This quickstart guide will get you up and running in minutes.

1. Requirements

• Minecraft version: 1.20.1

• Mod loader: Forge

• System: Windows, macOS, Linux (any platform that supports Minecraft 1.20.1)

⚠️ Note for non-official clients: Timeworn works out-of-the-box with both official and pirated Minecraft clients. The mod generates a unique identifier on first launch, stored in config/user_mc_args.txt. Do not delete this file, or your stats may reset.

2. Installation

1. Download the latest Timeworn .jar from Modrinth or timeworn.xyz.

2. Place the .jar file into your Minecraft mods folder:

   • Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods\

   • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods/

   • Linux: ~/.minecraft/mods/

3. Launch Minecraft with the Forge 1.20.1 profile.

4. On first run, Timeworn will automatically start tracking your gameplay.

3. How it works

• Tracks total playtime and session length automatically.

• Collects minimal anonymized data, sending it to the server.

• Supports all mods and modpacks—Timeworn will run alongside your existing setup without conflicts.

4. Troubleshooting

• If the mod doesn’t track your sessions:

  1. Ensure you are running Forge 1.20.1.

  2. Make sure user_mc_args.txt exists in config/.

  3. Check your log file for any errors (logs/latest.log).
